The beautiful and playful hand-crafted jute “word-bags” from The Jacksons are a joyous outcome of the design collaboration between Louise Jackson and the skillful traditional handicraft workers of Southwest Bangladesh.

The Jacksons are proud to work closely with about 5000 women in Bangladesh, in an area where there are no job opportunities for women. The wonderful women who hand make these bags now have access to free medical care and education for their children but most importantly, they are paid directly which gives them status and power to make decisions within the family.

Design

These beautiful hand beaded bags are definitely a conversation starter. A great accessory to add colour to an outfit. Can be used as a large purse or a bag.

Hand made in Bangladesh.

This purse is handmade by artisans who skilfully stitch thousands of glass beads individually onto a cotton frame. We design and collaborate with local enterprises who find work for women in rural Bangladesh.
